i've got Jesus in my life
Can you hate without hurting?
Often, people encourage you to forgive others by saying things like, "Dont be stupid. You think she cares? You get angry with her, you make yourself upset only. She just go on doing whatever she wants, it doesnt affect her!"
Hate was known to me previously as a burden carried by myself, and I didnt mind if I were the only one suffering. I didnt mind being grumpy, but I thought it was too much if the target was going to be hurt. I wouldnt intentionally do things to hurt him/her.
Not true at all. Hate is powerful, hate can affect others. You cant hate without hurting the person. Obviously, when you hate someone, much as you try to hide, your attitude, words and actions towards that person changes, and he/she can sense it.
More importantly, you're depriving the person of his/her deserved love from God. God died for all, God forgave all, God loved all. Who are we to steal this love? We trade-off God's love for them to us. In layman terms, because we love ourselves and are unwilling to forgive, the person we hate receives less love. We are stealing the love God gave them, and loving ourselves more. That is not right. Even non-Christians know that stealing is wrong.
I thank God for opening my eyes about this last night, after resolving a similar problem with Le. Really helps me open my heart to love and forgive. And
To people whom I've hated, and hurt. I'm sorry. Give me some time to learn to love. But for now, forgive me.
